12 Ways To Exercise and Express Your Personal Freedom
Wake up. Check phone. Shower. Coffee. Morning traffic. Work. Evening traffic. Binge screen time. Sleep. Repeat.
Is this a typical day for you?
It’s hard to be inspired to get more out of life when your in a rut and can’t seem to get out of your everyday routine. Finding the time to do something new on a regular basis can be daunting and seem like too much effort to be worth it. You also may not know where to start. For me the thought of even putting in the effort to try something new brings uncertain feelings of whether it will be worth it to try because I don’t know if it will be inspiring or fun. Here are some ways to climb out of the day to day sameness that is sucking the life out of you.
Express More of Who You Are
Sometimes when we get stuck in a routine, our outer appearance reflects what is going on inside of us. We may begin to neglect the effort we put into our appearance-for instance, we may start to skip some beauty and grooming habits to a certain degree. Spruce up your look with a make over. No need to go all out with expensive services, but making an attempt to improve the small things we’ve neglected can be a start to the momentum to make some bigger changes towards doing some of the greater things you desire. If you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you do good. Makes sense to me!
Use Your Resources Towards A Large Passion Project
Being comfortable is nice, but staying in comfort for too long can start to make you dormant, making it difficult to free yourself from that zone. Spending money on little things that were once pleasurable like a daily fancy coffee, for example, may now be part of the routine and maybe a dependency. Stop treating yourself all the time with ‘little’ pleasures and put that money towards a bigger passion project. Getting an interesting side hustle, in addition, to fund a bigger goal can result in more expansion and freedom.
Get Mentally Stimulated
If you’re anything like me, I like to get as much education as I can before starting something new. Before embarking on that new side hustle that may need some new skills, take a one-day workshop, an online course, or watch a few hours about it on YouTube. Get engaged in the class discussions or comment sections, ask questions or share answers with others.
Decorate Boldly
Your living space has a big effect on your energy levels. In the same way giving yourself a make over can give you some extra pep in your step, new home decor or a design project can change the energy in your home for the better and will have a positive impact on all family members. Live plants and foreign-inspired decor adds boldness, excitement, and higher vibrations.
Do Whatever You Want In A Big Way
It’s time to play again. Go all out with some regular themed parties and celebrations, go sky-diving or play a big prank on someone who won’t take it too seriously. Restart an old hobby that used to really get you in the zone. Kids are the best teachers in the subject of play. Let them be your guide.
Solve Every Day Problems
No one is at their best when they are not healthy. Health and wellness affects all areas of life, and we all have overcame something that can help someone who is struggling with an issue you may have conquered, even if it’s your fool-proof home-remedy cold cure. Teach someone your methods or share your personal experiences, study natural healing methods and make herbal teas or essential oil blends. You could get involved in a health movement or raise the bar on your own health and become a vegan or get really involved in a new trendy workout. A physically healthy body correlates to a healthy mind resulting in more optimism and inspiration.
Involve Someone You Love
Relationships also need refinement. And it is good to be aware when the relationship with your best friend, spouse, or business partner needs some creativity. Doing something new together that puts you all in new environment can be a great experience to learn something new about each other. Go on a retreat together or try a 30 day challenge and watch a new depth develop in your relationships.
Go Deep
We’re all here to grow and we never stop evolving. Try therapy or some form of counseling to find areas where you can make some profound changes and see what is holding you back. Be open to metaphysical counseling as well like a tarot or astrology reading, or a reiki/energy healing and balancing session. Maybe you can be much better with money. Learn about investing or money matters that will allow you to view finances in a different and dynamic way. If you’re the adventurous type, go whitewater rafting, zip lining or partake in an extreme outdoor activity. If you’re in a rut, it may be time to make an emotional, mental, or physical change in a bigger way.
Broaden Your Horizons and Become A Master
Enjoy your life again and remember when you were 18 in the sense that you were open to new experiences. Meet and explore new cultures that are different from yours and be open to their philosophies. You don’t necessarily have to leave the country, but travelling to a large, highly diverse city can provide you with lot’s of exposure to different ways people live life. Become an expert in a particular culture’s style of dress, cuisine, or even religion. Write an essay or start a blog about your travels or experiences teaching others about your personal truths and self publish it as an e-book.
Find Your Purpose And Live Your Destiny
Jobs and careers can become stagnant too, especially if it’s not your calling or something you love doing. Some people want to make an impact on society in a large way beyond their neighborhood, city, or state. And some do not and that’s okay too. You can serve on a board or join and lead a public cause that is related to providing personal freedom for yourself and others in a small way or a big way. How do you want to be remembered?
Find Like-Minded Others And Work Towards a Common Cause
Life is easier when you have a tribe. It is also more fulfilling to work with others who have a similar mission as you. This can be similar to fellowship at a church or volunteering for an organization where the group works towards something higher to better society. You may even love meeting up with your weekly bird-watching group to talk to and teach others about how birds behave in their natural environment. Finding ways to connect with others that remove yourself from inward issues, everyday difficult encounters, or family drama is necessary.
Face Your Fears
When I was a kid, I had some scary experiences around water and that’s why I didn’t care to learn how to swim. This year, I’m going to face that fear and learn, crossing my fear of water of the list, taking me one more step closer to liberation. What are you holding yourself back from? What are you denying yourself? Who knows what you can discover once fear is no longer in control.
